Martha was called to the Bar in 1979 and has been a child law specialist since 1990. She has been Head of Chambers at Coram and also one of the Chairs of the Association of Lawyers for Children since 2010.

Debbie Singleton, Co-Chair
Debbie has specialised in family law since she qualified in 1994. She joined the National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS), a UK charity providing children's rights and socio-legal services in 2003 and has been a Director of Legal Services there since 2008. She is currently Co-Chair of the Association of Lawyers for Children.

Frances joined CILEx in 1992 and qualified as a Fellow in 2000. Frances has been a CILEx Council Member for Wales since July 2008 and was President of CILEx in 2014-15. Frances is currently employed by Caswell Jones Solicitors in Caerphilly where she has worked since 1995 as a member of the family team.

Rebecca teaches family law at the University of Warwick. She has written on all aspects of modern family law and her publications include Cretney and Probert's Family Law and Marriage Law and Practice in the Long Eighteenth Century: A Reassessment.

Jonathan Herring, Editor
Jonathan is Professor of Law at Exeter College, Oxford and has written a popular textbook on family law as well as editing several books on theoretical issues in family law. He is a member of the editorial board for the Family Court Reports and is an editor for the Child and Family Law Quarterly.

Edward was called to the Bar in 2013, having previously qualified as a solicitor with Allen & Overy. He was awarded the Young Family Law Barrister of the Year award in 2015 and has been General Editor of the International Family Law Journal since January 2015.

Martin is Chief Executive of LawWorks (the Solicitors Pro Bono Group). Following experience in the advice sector (including at a Citizens Advice Bureau), he subsequently spent over 5 years as CEO of the Child Poverty Action Group and a further 10 years as CEO of DrugScope. Martin is a trustee of the Advice Services Alliance and was formerly a trustee of the charity Family Action.

Jess is Chief Executive of the Bar Pro Bono Unit, before which she spent five years at the Bar Council as head of policy for regulatory issues and law reform.

Nick Hanning
Nick has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives since 1990. In 2009 he was the first Legal Executive to become a partner in a solicitors' practice and is currently a partner at Dutton Gregory Solicitors. He is Chair of the CILEx Pro Bono Trust and a Trustee of the Bar Pro Bono Unit.
